Umbilicals International is a specialist in the design and manufacture of hydraulic, electric and electro-hydraulic umbilicals for the upstream energy industry. Intervention/Installation Workover Control Systems (IWOCS) IWOCS umbilicals are designed and manufactured to best suit the requirements of the operator, using hoses and cables that are manufactured to the highest quality. An IWOCS umbilical will typically see repeated deployments requiring that the umbilical be designed with tensile reinforcement either from textile braiding or galvanized steel armoring. The components within the umbilical are cable laid up to ensure the umbilical provides the most reliable and dynamic performance. Sub Sea Isolation Valve (SSIV) SSIV umbilicals are custom designed and manufactured to provide a critical link from the surface to the pipeline isolation valve on the seabed. In the event of an emergency requiring shutdown of the pipeline, the hydraulic hoses within the umbilical are used to close the valves while electrical cables within the umbilical are used to monitor the valve status. The SSIV umbilical incorporates a torque balanced contra-helically laid armor package, providing protection during installation and ensuring the umbilical has excellent dynamic performance while in service.
