It was in the year 2000 in Sydney where Samo Potokar risked twice to capsize with his rib looking for his sailors outside Sydney bay during a squall. It had been just good luck he got ashore safe and sound. Back home, he had just one thought bouncing inside his head:
"I am never going to sail again in such a rib anymore. Sail coaches needs a safer rib for their job!"
... and that is where all began.
VSR 5.8C was designed for the sailors in sense of fulfilling specific needs of sailing coaches – who by definition are former sailors, to provide them with safe, dry and as stressless as possible working environment regardless of sea conditions.
Due to its unique hull shape with narrow and high bow riding a VSR 5.8C is the closest thing to steering a sailboat – steering experiences pay off especially when riding through rough sea with massive waves and strong winds where VSR 5.8C offers outstanding performance.
The VSR 5.8C is the #1 Choice of many top sailing coaches – this is not just coincidence.
Being a rib designed by a coach for coaching, all details follows this philosophy. A Very Slender Rib with plenty of room onboard, free sides for hosting rolled mainsails and tiller extensions plus options for tow post and extra storage boxes. Like other VSRs, the rib could be built in virtually infinite combinations of colors and options, so to let it be YOUR rib. Choose the color of tubes, deck and hull, then start adding tubes strakes and options as you prefer, reinforcing it where you need with double rubbers, more handles and so on. Only the original VSR console fits here due the narrow shape, with an optimized working place well thought in any detail.
