The VES-DD system is certified by DNV in accordance with SOLAS/MED requirements and relevant flag state approvals. The system can be stored almost anywhere on board and remotely released as needed.
Ability to evacuate 657 persons in 30 minutes and 386 persons within 17 minutes and 40 seconds
Embarkation heights between 6 and 15 meters above waterline
Available with either reduced, A or B SOLAS emergency pack
Simple to operate and requires few crew members
Flexible installation and capacity
The VIKING Evacuation Slide VES-DD is a high capacity evacuation system that can be adjusted to match any ship design and capacity, with a range of liferaft sizes from 25-101 persons. Ideal for high sided passenger vessels.
The landing platform saves valuable time in an emergency as evacuation can begin before the liferafts are completely inflated. Several evacuees can descend the double slide at the same time and access the system liferafts from the landing station. The platform can also be disengaged form the slide and act as a supplementary rescue unit.
Activated by one handle
The system is activated by one handle. The handle releases pressured nitrogen (N2) that
opens the system door. The slide is pulled out and immediately starts to inflate with
nitrogen (including 50 % over capacity) and air aspirators. The slide system does not
require an external power supply.
