NetSim is a computer deployed blind pilotage simulator, specifically designed to develop high-speed electronic navigation and collision avoidance skills.
NetSim is composed of four navigational instruments: Electronic Charting System (ECS), RADAR, Golbal Positioning System (GPS), and magnetic copmass.
Combined with flexible training curriculum, NetSim can be deployed in desktop or internet based configurations allowing trainees to learn and practice navigation skills in a classroom set-up or on a self-study basis prior to progressing to on-water training.
NetSim is designed to help small boat fleets accomplish the following training goals:
- Introduction to electronic navigation
- Advanced electronic navigation
- Mission Planning
- Area familiarization
- Operational case studies and scenarios on:
- Search and rescue
- Tactical intercepts
- Harbor protection
NetSim allows training organizations to:
- Increase training frequency and focus
- Reduce training costs
- Mitigate training and operational risk
