The NAUTIS Towage Simulator contains a content and functionality package that provides functionalities specific to the navigation, vessel handling and manoeuvring of conventional and azimuth propulsion systems, assisting ships / towing / rig moves, equipment familiarisation and joint multi-vessel exercises. A library of tugboats with different propulsions is available for training, including harbour tugs, ASD tugs, ocean tugs and a variety of towing lines. All include realistic tug-ship interaction forces at the bow and stern of cargo vessels, considering both hull and propulsion interactions. Advanced functionalities such as adjustable interaction forces, an advanced rope dynamics system including line elasticity and snap force, the option to visualise all forces as vectors, bollard pull visibility for instructors, instructor control of towing, and mooring & anchor winches are included in the package.
