Sea and river water are full of living organisms like algae, plankton, microscopic bacteria etc. When these organisms go into the inlet pipe of a marine toilet they’re starved of oxygen and light so they die and decompose, that’s the source of the smell! It contains a reservoir of eco-friendly fluid, a microprocessor which analyses toilet use, and a dosing pump to dispense the disinfectant through a very thin tube threaded through the inlet sanitation hose. The fluid is dispensed directly into the flushing water, at the seacock, right at the start of its journey into the marine toilet. In this way, ALL of the water in the system is deodorised and sanitised, right from the start of the system.
