As rowers and health professionals know, slide seat sculling uses up to 90% of your muscles with no stress on the knees and burns twice the calories as jogging or kayaking. Unlike a narrow rowing shell, there is room for a friend or your dog. Whether rowing in calm water or wind and waves on lakes, rivers, and oceans this boat will handle it all. This boat is right at home on the deck of a yacht, at the cabin, parked on a dock, or on a trailer in the garage.
4 to 5 knots (6 to 9 km/h) can be maintained for hours with little to no strain on the rower. Rowing with a sliding seat uses 800 calories per hour, about double that of jogging without stress on the knees, joints, or connective tissues
This slide seat sculling model is fitted with a sliding seat unit, bronze outriggers, and 9’6″ sculls. The slide seat can be removed or installed in a minute or two converting the boat to a fixed seat traditional rowboat. It is also available as a sailing model, where the slide seat unit is mounted in position over top of the centreboard.
All the features are standard except for the optional teak floor or the ocean tender fully buoyant floor system which adds substantial extra reserve buoyancy to the boat, perfect for when the boat is used as a ship’s tender or shoreboat. With no one aboard
