Description

WingCommander X60 - the system is designed to sail vessels up to 60' feet boat length with the kite only. With the WingCommander the system can be flown fully automatic. Our kite systems makes it possible to power your boats with kites. Kites fly much higher than traditional sails where the wind can be as much as 2x the strength. Additionally, due to the unique physics of kites the power generated can be as much as 10x as a similar sized conventical sail - meaning a 10sqm kite can be the same as a 100sqm sail on a run. It can be installed in various types of boats inboard or outboard. The kite is controlled by joystick or autopilot. For example, a 60' catamaran can sail at a speed of 6kn without any additional propulsion. This corresponds to a saving of 159Kg CO2 per hour (assuming 60l consumption p. hr.). For an Atlantic crossing with 20.000l this is about 53t CO2 saving. The newly developed WINGit Voyager Kite is the world's first series kite for propulsion of ships. The shape of the kite has been uncompromisingly optimized for use as a towing kite. The use of the most modern materials, the optimal tuning of the components and the esay handling make the WINGit Voyager the ideal kite for use with our Kite Control Systems.
