The ZF 85 IV is a marine gearbox with hydraulically operated multi-plate clutches, particularly suitable for high-performance applications, including: luxury motor yachts; sport fishing boats; cabin cruisers. The rugged design is one of its main advantages as it allows it to withstand even continuous service in workboat applications. Compatibility with all types of engines and propulsion systems, including waterjets and propellers, is another great advantage. It is suitable for dual motor installations, possessing the same ratio and torque capacity in forward or reverse mode. Among its main components we find: the V-DRIVE output shaft angled by 12°; a light and robust aluminum alloy body, which allows it to resist sea water; the replaceable oil filter; a ratios (reduction ratio) of 2.00.
