1-1 The davit is manufactured and test under the approval of Classification Society in compliance with the requirements of the MSC.47 (66)-Amendments to SOLAS 1974 & MSC.48(66)-LSA.
1-2 The davit to be designed for embarkation when the boat in stowed position. The boat may be lowered without stopping in a continuous movement at a minimum time.
1-3 The boat can be lowered by means of remote control. The crew can release and stop the hand brake of the winch from inside of the boat by wire connection to the brake arm and wire spool on the small drum. Alternatively the crew can operate the hand brake on the deck.
1-4 Lashing arrangement for boat can be released manually by using the slip hooks on forward and aft lashing.
1-5 A permanently mounted electric motor on the winch is used for hoisting the life/rescue boat with persons back to the stowed position.
1-6 The winch drives are equipped with one-way brake, disc type axial friction clutch and manual hoisting crank with safety device.
1-7 The inspections and tests of davit appliances to be in accordance with the IMO Resolutions MSC81(70) and approved by classification society.
