Italwinch

MZ Electronic was founded in 1993 as a company for design and development of electronic equipment. Since the beginning, the company has produced its own catalogue, presenting itself at the main Italian and foreign trade fairs. Over the years of development in nautical sector, MZ Electronic increased its range of products: battery chargers, charge distributors, bilge pump switches and obviously windlass accessories.

2008

MZ Electronic starts collaborating with ORVEA, creating the Italwinch windlass brand and starting to produce the first range of windlasses for boats up to 16 meters.

2011

MZ Electronic acquires ORVEA, widening the family of mooring products for boats up to 40 metres, thus obtaining a complete range of electronic accessories and the possibility of creating customized mechanical products.

2017

MZ Electronic completes the acquisition of Officina Navale Nanni (ONN), located in Viareggio, a famous nautical hub known all over the world. ONN was born in 1950, has always made customized windlasses, according to the requests of the designers. ONN has led MZ Electronic to be able to supply pleasure, commercial and military boats up to 90 meters.

2021

MZ Electronic acquires Progetto Elica (SBM), a company specialized in the calculation, design and production of customized submerged and surface propellers, shaft lines and rudders, for boats up to 150 feet.

2023

MZ Electronic celebrates its 30th anniversary and provides now a more and more complete high quality range of products, from propulsion to anchoring and all certifiable according to the requirements of the strictest classification bodies in the world.
