POSIDONIA – Engineering, Manufacturing and Certification for the Marine, Yachting and Naval Defense Sectors

Posidonia is an Italian company specialized in the design, manufacturing, and certification of anchors, chains, and deck equipment for the commercial marine, yachting, refit, and naval defense sectors. The company operates with a fully integrated and vertical structure, managing the entire process from engineering to production and final testing, ensuring high reliability and complete technical customization.

All products are manufactured entirely in-house in Italy by highly skilled personnel, using certified processes for welding, coating, and surface treatments. Operations span over 6,000 square meters of production space, including workshops, warehouses, and engineering offices. Welding operations are certified by the Italian Institute of Welding, and all production phases undergo non-destructive testing (NDT) in accordance with international maritime standards.

A key asset of the company is its 500-ton pull test bench, the largest in the Mediterranean, certified by IACS member societies. This facility enables full-scale proof load testing and validation of anchors, chains, and deck fittings, ensuring compliance with the technical and safety requirements of international classification societies and naval authorities (NAVY) from multiple countries.

Since 2013, Posidonia has been a trusted supplier to some of the world’s largest and most prestigious superyachts, delivering fully customized anchoring and mooring solutions that meet both functional and aesthetic standards. The company also plays a strategic role in the refit market, offering engineering support and retrofitting services tailored to existing vessels. Posidonia manufactures anchors exceeding 26,000 kg, designed for large vessels and demanding technical applications.

Our values

Posidonia was founded in Genoa, in the heart of the Mediterranean— a city historically tied to the sea and to Italy’s great shipbuilding tradition. For over a century, we have carried forward a profession that demands experience, precision, responsibility, and passion. The identity of our company is deeply rooted in the values of Made in Italy: manufacturing excellence, attention to detail, engineering creativity, and long-term vision.

We are a family-owned company spanning four generations, growing over time while staying true to the principles that define our work: reliability, competence, transparency, and respect for people. Our team is made up of highly skilled professionals, many of whom have grown with us over the years. We strongly believe in the human value of work, continuous training, and the intergenerational transmission of technical expertise.

At Posidonia, tradition goes hand in hand with innovation. While we preserve the heritage of manual craftsmanship and historical techniques, we also invest in research, digital tools, and advanced engineering to offer tailor-made, certified solutions that meet the evolving needs of both civilian and military sectors.

For us, customization is not an added service—it is a core value. Every project is unique. Every application is developed in close collaboration with the client. Every product is engineered and built to last.

Compliance with international standards, full production traceability, and certified testing in accordance with IACS and NAVY regulations are the tangible expression of our commitment to total quality.

Posidonia is more than a company: it is a way of working, a responsibility toward the sea, and a heritage of knowledge built over time with passion and integrity.
