Toward new ideas, bearing the roots in mind!

On October 1st in 2008, the Schaeffertec GmbH is formed. Christof Schmidt, in a managerial position at Prym since 2005, did not want to stand by and watch the slow death of the production facility in Wuppertal. He was and still is convinced that the German middle class needs ideas, visions, entrepreneurship and courage to create products and customersolutions, and thereby create and maintain employment. Therefore, Schaeffer eventually becomes the Schaeffertec GmbH based in Sprockhövel.

Two focal points in the product range are bought from Prym during the MBO: stamping and deep drawn parts for writing instruments and technical fastening applications, as well as the special fastening solution LOXX®.

Alongside Christof Schmidt, a holding company of the Prange Group based in Plettberg is proprietor of Schaeffertec. This prolific and trusting cooperation has a great part in the success of the Schaeffertec GmbH.

In remembrance of Carl Schaeffer, Felix Homberg, Prof. Ing. Friedrich Kramer, et al. the new company name is a part of the past as well as a part of the future – “Schaeffer” as part of the company’s history, “tec” as hint to the new technologies of the future.

The Schaeffertec team wants to contribute to customer success. A company’s concept is only successful if the customers are satisfied. Schaeffertec’s pillars are:

Dependability. Experienced and specialized employees provide for high product and service quality. At the production site in Sprockhövel (10 km from Wuppertal) work is performed on 2000 square meters. The unique manufacturing implies the highest efficiency and flexibility for our customers. Shipment on schedule and customer oriented service are a matter of course.

Sustainability. Pollution control and environmental sustainability is of major importance. The proximity to business partners is a crucial aspect to keep the carbon footprint as small as possible. Therefore, almost all of the raw materials and provisions of service are bought in Germany.

Innovation. The permanent development of products and the constant search for new product ideas, designs and market opportunities are the center of trading. Schaeffertec offers solutions. Technical consultations on site and a fast provision of samples are essential aspects of a customer oriented cooperation.

The following principles are our guideline at Schaeffertec:

1. Pollution control and sustainability. From purchasing raw materials to the shipment of our products, we avoid unnecessary detours, dangerous materials or energy-intensive production processes in order to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible.

2. We manufacture in Germany since Made in Germany has been a guarantee of quality for decades.

3. We take our social responsibility to provide jobs, and therefore purpose in life for the disadvantaged people in our society, seriously. One of our main cooperation partners is proviel (www.proviel.de) an exemplary service company and employer for people with mental diseases or disabilities.

4. We offer apprenticeships. Our aim is to show young people that a professional training in the technical or commercial department can lead to a satisfying profession. We want young people to find a career path early on therefore we offer schools a 2-3 weeks long internship.
